About Us

U3A is a self help education movement which caters for persons in the 'third age' and for those who have retired or are semi-retired, promoting the concept of studying simply for the joy of learning. It is not a formal University, and does not offer formal qualifications nor set academic qualifications as a pre requisite for entry. There are no exams. Classes are held in many areas around the Redlands and also in private homes. The service plays a vital role in improving the quality of life of retired persons. The courses are run by volunteer tutors and include: Armchair Travel and Tourism, Book Discussion, Botany In the Bush, Card Making, Chess, Computer Classes and One on One computer tutoring, Creative Writing, Cryptic Crosswords, Playreading, English Country Dancing, Classic Music For Pleasure, Feldenkrais Awareness through Movement, Flower Arranging, French Conversation, French Language, German Language, Italian Language, Spanish Language, Life in Australia, Mah-jong, Meditation, Musical Productions (Footlites Performance Group), Patchwork and Quilling, Practical Art, Psychology for Everyone, Rambling in the Redlands, Scrabble, Solo Cards, Yoga, Cycling , Dining, Gardening, Current Affairs Discussion Group, Choir, Water Aerobics, Social Dancing (Ballroom) Canasta, Cinema Appreciation, Astrology Basics, Boules/Petanque, Genealogy, Fun with Jewellery, Seed Beading, Social Tennis and many more classes - refer to our webpage www.u3aredlands.com.au
