Opioid Treatment Program

Opioids such as methadone and buprenorphine may be prescribed as a means of keeping opioid dependent people ‘safer’ legally and physically, while they work on the appropriate areas of their lives. Entry into opioid treatment allows people to access other treatment and help, so if they wish to withdraw from their opioid treatment program, they have a realistic chance of maintaining abstinence.
