IFS – Intensive Family Support. This program supports families with children and/or young persons aged unborn to 18 years who have had, or are likely to have involvement in the statutory child protections system. This includes families who present a low-moderate risk in terms of child protection but require significant support to address presenting issues such as poor parenting skills, substance abuse problems, domestic and family violence, and/or mental health issues. The program focuses on the needs of the child, the child within the family and the family within the community. Outcomes for families include improved family and parenting behaviours, improved parenting ability, prevent entry to the statutory system, enhanced self esteem, and improved family functioning, improved safety and wellbeing of children and better household management skills.
