About Us

Crisis Accommodation

inCommunity is a 24 hour service providing crisis support and short term accommodation for homeless, at risk and disadvantaged young people aged 16 to 21 years. Up to six people can be accommodated for a maximum period of twelve weeks. Services available to residents include information, support and assistance with personal issues, living skills, income and benefits, health, education and training. Telephone information and referral is also available. Initial contact by telephone is required.

Mobile Support

inCommunity also offers Mobile Support within the Ipswich, Somerset & Lockyer Valley regions providing housing support to young people aged 25 years and under. Mobile Support provides ongoing support to young people aged 25 years and under. This program can be accessed by individuals, couples and families who may be homeless, sleeping rough or couch surfing and are seeking support to find or maintain accommodation and need help to prepare for independent living. Our Mobile Support Team work with young people out in the community and help in developing a plan, setting goals, linking with other services and essentially provide support to access and sustain accommodation.

SPin Housing Program

SPin (Supporting People in) Housing Program is delivered in partnership with the Department of Housing and Public Works and Churches of Christ Housing Services. It is a transitional housing program that is suitable for young people aged 16 – 25 years of age. Young people are interviewed and approved if they have the necessary independent living skills to maintain the accommodation.

Bail Support Program

The SWAP (South West Advocacy and Pathways) program is being delivered in partnership with Inala Youth Service, Inala Wangarra and Youth Advocacy Centre. The program supports young people at risk of remand to meet and comply with court-imposed bail conditions, aiming to ultimately to break the cycle of offending. Our team of case managers provide case management support to multiple young people and are a visible presence within the Ipswich community. We regularly attend the Ipswich office for youth justice and the Ipswich Court House where we meet young people, and join them on their journeys.
