Endochrinology and Diabetes Services

The Sunshine Coast Diabetes Centre is a Queensland Health service and provides comprehensive diabetes education services to all residents of the Sunshine Coast with regard to Type 1 Diabetes, Type 2 Diabetes, Gestational Diabetes and Impaired Glucose Tolerance. Staff at the Centre include fully accredited Diabetes Nurses, Educators, as a part time Dietician and a Podiatrist. Consultants are either on a one to one basis or group based. Appointments are necessary for any type of consultation. The Sunshine Coast Diabetes Centre also co-ordinates the Camp Diabetes Camping Programme for children and adolescents with Type 1 Diabetes. Please contact the centre for details of the 2008 camping programme. The Diabetes centre has up to date information with regard to Diabetes resources and services in the Sunshine Coast district. There is no charge for services at the Diabetes Centre and both self-referrals as well as doctor, allied health and community referrals are accepted.
