RAATSICC Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Family Support Service

WHO IS THE SERVICE FOR: Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Children(unborn to 18 years) and their parents(including kin in a caring role of the child or children) who are NOT receiving involvement of Child Safety Services; Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children(unborn to 18years) and their parents(including kin in a caring role of the child or children) who ARE receiving involvement of Child Safety Services; Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Children(unborn to 18 years) and their parents(including kin in a caring role of child or children) who HAVE previously received Family Support Services.

WHY WE HAVE THIS SERVICE? Our staff would like to assist parents, including kin in a caring role of a child and/or children, in providing appropriate and safe care for their child and or children to prevent them from entering or re-entering the Child Safety System

WHAT CAN THIS SERVICE OFFER: Practical guidance, advice and support to help parents9including kin in a caring role of a child) such as,managing a household; planned and safe daily routines; nutrition and meals; understanding child development and needs; health care; emotional support; housing and responsibilities; budgeting and income; child/parent relationship and communication; alternative forms of discipline ffor children; information on services/programs that also assist families.

HOW CAN I GET TO USE THE SERVICE? To ue the service you must be referred by one of the following ways - School, Doctor, Child Safety Officer and sel referral.
