The centre has state-of-the-art facilities. Health services are provided by the nurses on duty five days a week, and a nurse is available 24 hours a day in an emergency. Outreach services to Horn Island Primary Health Care Centre include a midwife, psychiatrist, dietician, diabetes educator, men’s and women’s health and family support services. A doctor visits the clinic one day per week from Thursday Island, with the Thursday Island Hospital accessible by ferry or helicopter.
