Next Step Aftercare

Young Queenslanders who have left care can now access support and advice 24 hours a day, seven days a week, by calling or texting 1800 639 878.

With Next Step After Care you can get in touch with people who will try and help you sort out the things you’re having trouble with, no matter how big or small.

How involved we get is totally up to you. So, if you’ve left care and you’re under 21 don’t be shy, give us a call or text 24/7, and we’ll see what we can work out together.

And if you know someone who you think could do with some extra support you can call us to talk about how to help them too.

www.nextstepaftercare.com.au is also a key element of the Next Step After Care services now being delivered by us in partnership with CREATE Foundation, Uniting Care Community, YETI, South Burnett CTC and IFYS, with funding from the Queensland Government.

The service provides young people between the ages of 15 and 21 who have been in foster care or other out of home care arrangements, with support to build independent lives.

Next Step services helps young people who have left care with quick access to practical advice and support with things like:

• managing money and entitlements
• housing and accommodation
• training, jobs and preparing a resume
• keeping safe, strong and healthy
• relationships, including friends and family
• legal advice.
