Migrant Services
About Us
Conversations in English (CinE) is a fully volunteer-based program in four towns in the Western Downs region: Dalby, Chinchilla, Miles and Tara. Our goal is to help migrants practise their English, build connections in the community, learn the Aussie way of life, share cultures including Australia, strengthen self-confidence, and enjoy a quality life while getting integrated into the local community.
We hold regular meetings, get involved in local and regional cultural events, and keep continuously present in the media through the Western Downs Regional Council (WDRC) website, regular articles in local newspapers, radio and TV interviews.
The CinE program has won the Access Community Services Cultural Diversity Award at the 2016 Queensland Regional Achievement & Community Awards.
