General Disability Services
About Us
Latrobe Lifeskills has been providing support to people with disability since 1998.
Lifeskills is a Registered Training Organisation (TOID 20791) and a boutique provider of nationally recognised courses and community engagement activities for young people living with disability.
Unlike many other disability service providers, Lifeskills offers Accredited Programs and/or Pre-Accredited Activities (Day Programs).
This unique approach enables Participants to engage in meaningful activities and relationships, whilst participating as fully as possible at La Trobe University and the broader community.
Lifeskills recognises the importance and value of growing a Participant’s foundation skills to enrich their learning, provide for greater social inclusion, increased choice and control over individual lives. Foundation skills are also a basis for bridging the gap between transitioning from a Pre-accredited to an Accredited Program.
In some cases, Participants build towards an outcome of work experience or paid employment.
Based out of La Trobe University Bundoora and Bendigo campuses, Lifeskills is able to offer the full advantage of the university campus facilities: sports centre equipped with indoor heated swimming pool, gymnasium, indoor and outdoor racquet sport courts, arts and craft room, tool workshop, computer laboratories, seminar rooms and lecture theatres.
Wherever possible Lifeskills encourage Participants to use public transport to and from Lifeskills, further enhancing independence and confidence.
Lifeskills is committed to providing and supporting a collaborative partnership between Participants, families, staff and other professionals involved. We look forward to meeting and discovering your future together.
