About Us
Livestock facility for selling sheep, lambs and cattle. Sheep and lamb sales held Wednesdays, weekly. Sheep must be curfewed 24 hours before sale. Cattle sales held Wednesday, fortnightly. Cattle sold over the scales must be delivered to the saleyards no later than 9pm, Tuesday prior to sale. Canteen available. Sheep holding paddocks available to purchasers when required. Sale Yard Complex is at Burnt Creek (4 km East of Horsham) off Western Highway.
Quality assured under NSQA program.
Open: 9.30 am sheep + lambs, cattle one hour after completion of sheep sales.
Meetings: Board meets: 3rd Thursday every second month.
The Exchange is Victoria's 4th largest sheep and lamb market and is the major livestock selling centre in the Wimmera region, attracting vendors from as far afield as the South Australian border and southern New South Wales. Last financial year's sheep and lamb throughput was 627,000.
The Horsham Regional Livestock Exchange is accredited as part of the National Livestock Quality Assurance (NSQA) program. Horsham has committed to a quality approach in the provision of service for the marketing of livestock. All stakeholders of the Horsham Regional Livestock Exchange are committed to the implementation of operation and management practices in accordance with standards set by the NSQA program.
