About Us

Limbs 4 Life’s philosophy is to empower amputees with information and support to ensure that no one goes through the process of limb loss alone.

Limbs 4 Life provides a range of programs and services within the Australian community.

Our best-practice Peer Support Program provides new amputees with access to a trained amputee Peer Support Volunteer who understands the impact of limb loss. Volunteers help new amputees and their families to navigate the pathways moving forward from acute care hospital to rehabilitation and independent living.

Peer Support Volunteers have regained their mobility, functionality and independence.

Limbs 4 Life also provides a range of free resources to members of our community. Our resources can assist new amputees to understand the pathways moving forward and self-healthcare management.  These include:

  • A Practical Guide for Amputees
  • The Amputee Diary
  • A range of Information Sheets and health literacy
  • Free subscription to Amplified (quarterly) magazine
  • Access to an interactive informative website
  • Online community forum

In addition Limbs 4 Life also hosts a range of events during the year, the largest being our National Amputee Conference which serves to empower amputees and their families with access to information, the ability to gain a greater understanding about their prosthetic and assistive technology options and solutions.

Limbs 4 Life provide a tailored service to parents of children born with a limb difference via our dedicated Limbs 4 Kids program. This program also provides a range of services and supports, such as peer support and access to health literacy and information to support parents of children with limb difference.
