The cancer Helpline, is part of the Cancer Information and Support Service which includes the Multi-Cultural Language Line, Cancer Connect peer support program, Cancer Support Groups program, Living with Cancer Education Program, Outside Speakers' bureau, Holiday Break program, Welfare Grants and No Interest loans program. Victorian Cancer Clinicians coordination program. Financial Assistance Program We provide telephone and/or written information about cancer and related issues for all Victorians. Cancer Nurses offer info and support for people affected by cancer, their friends and families. Cancer Helpline staff provide up to date information on specific types of cancer and treatment and linkage is made either with one-one support through the peer support program, Cancer Connect, cancer support groups and other community resources. Cancer Nurse are Accredited Breast Care and Prostate Care Nurses. Each call is confidential and callers may remain anonymous. We liaise both nationally with other anti-cancer organisations and health professionals. Ongoing professional education and liaison with clinicians, cancer support group facilitators and other health professionals at hospitals thought out Victoria. Volunteer education, information, support and linkage with a specially trained volunteer visitor, if requested. Information is also available on cancer prevention and early detection, including related "Cancer Council Victoria" programs. Teacher and students may obtain resources designed for use in school and employers may obtain resources and information for the workplace. Health professional and cancer support group members and facilitators may also use the services to assist with access to up-to-date information.
