Community Mental Health Services provide services for people experiencing mental illness in the local area. The South West Mental Health Service provides a dedicated community mental health service for the South West of WA by working closely with other health services, regional hospitals, community care providers and GPs.
This includes comprehensive assessment, triage, crisis response and treatment for people with mental health problems.
Services are available for people of all ages.
Clinical Programs include;
- Child and Adolescent Mental Health
- Youth Mental Health
- Aboriginal Mental Health
- Adult Mental Health; and
- Seniors Mental Health Programs.
Referrals: Our preferred referral method is through your General Practitioner, however there are other referral options:
- Your General Practitioner (preferred option)
- Crisis and emergency services
- Other health services
- Community agencies
- Schools
- Private Psychiatrists or other doctors
- Yourself
- A relative, carer or friend
The child and adolescent program provides assessment,treatment and support for children and adolescents up to 18 years of age with severe and persistent mental health disorders and/or self harming/suicidal ideations and/or behaviours, as well as assistance for their family/carers.
