Youth Justice Services

(Note that no referrals are taken from the public for these services)

HOPE delivers a range of support for young people aged between 10 and 17 years of age who have become involved with the justice system. HOPE’s Youth Justice Programs include Bail Services, Youth Transitional Accommodation Program, and Community Programs.

The programs are designed to meet the individual needs of each young person, including daily activities, which are planned in collaboration with the young person, their family (wherever possible) and Youth Justice Services. Physical and mental health, basic hygiene, education and life skills are some of the priority areas of the young people involved.

Aboriginal and CaLD cultures are acknowledged and celebrated by staff, who strive to create a culturally safe environment and support the young people to feel proud and strong in their own identity.

Bail Services

A safe structured and homely residential environment is provided for young people on bail who do not have someone to supervise their orders. This is provided in the Perth metro area, Broome, Geraldton, Kalgoorlie, Hedland and in partnership with Save the Children, in Kununurra.

Youth Transitional Accommodation Program

HOPE provides a supportive residential environment in the Perth metro area, for young people on supervised release orders from Banksia Hill Detention Centre.

Community Programs

Individualised holistic support for young people on community-based orders, in four key areas:

• Rehabilitation
• Emotional well being
• Education Training and Employment
• Life Skills Health and Development

Metro Life Skills Health and Development

Support for young people in Banksia Hill Detention Centre, and in the community – in partnership with Rise Network, Save the Children, City of Cockburn Peedac and headspace Armadale.
