About Us
The Family Violence Service is a section of the Department of the Attorney General's Victim Support and Child Witness Service. We provide services and support to people who have experienced family and domestic violence. It is a free and confidential service. Our staff can assist you with: * Talking openly with professional staff and discussing the options available to you * Assessing the risk of further violence to you * Developing safety plans * Applying for a violence restraining order * Preparing you to attend court and have someone at court to support you * Obtaining information about ongoing court matters * Completing court-related documents * Accessing other services that you may need including counselling, police, legal assistance, medical care or other help agencies.
