About Us

The course starts at the grass area, just south of the Indiana Cottesloe Beach restaurant. The exact starting point is a drink fountain just to the left of the footpath. The course ends at the same place as the starting point. There are a group of trees either side of the footpath where you finish. Most of the course is run on the beachfront pedestrian path. When you reach 2 Curtin Avenue you run down a slope to the beach. You run on the sand until you reach 38 Marine Parade (the big pine tree) and then you turn around and run up a beach broadwalk at Lot 362 Curtin Avenue. Then you run North, along the pedestrian park until you reach the finish point. The course covers a variety of terrain including about 800m along the beach, which varies from week to week as the tide, sand and seasonal seaweed come and go. There are also some rocks to step over as you come onto the beach and some other variations - so lift your feet! In some areas there are large grass areas alongside the footpath, which may also be used for runners. There are no major hills in this course apart from running down to the sand and back up from the sand to the footpath. There are slight inclines and corresponding declines. There are no roads to be aware of, only other people using the same footpath for walking, running cycling or walking their dog. Facilities There are toilets, taps tables, a drink fountain outside and plenty of shade outside the Indiana Cottesloe Beach restaurant. There is also a few drink fountains during the 5km run.
