About Us

Puntukurnu Aboriginal Medical Service (PAMS) provides health services and programs for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities of Newman, Jigalong, Parnngurr, Punmu and Kanawarritji in the north of Western Australia.

Programs are divided into age groups and focus on six key areas:

  • nutrition
  • sexual health
  • chronic disease
  • physical activity
  • alcohol and other drugs
  • social and emotional wellbeing.

PAMS is developing a number of strategic partnerships to fill some of the service delivery gaps for the communities in the East Pilbara and to coordinate activities with other providers to ensure access to all the PAMS clients and continuity of services.

Puntukurnu Aboriginal Medical Service is a member of the Aboriginal Health Council of Western Australia (ACHWA).
