About Us

The Serenity Withdrawal Unit is a partnership initiative between Cyrenian House and DAWN.  Based on the Serenity Lodge site in Rockingham, it offers low medical detox to consumers.

Services We Provide

  • A self-contained, four-bed low-medical withdrawal facility at the Serenity Lodge Therapeutic Community site in Rockingham
  • 24 hour residential care and support with onsite medical support provided by experienced alcohol and other drugs (AOD) nurses
  • A stand-alone withdrawal service; or a pathway through to Cyrenian House, and other residential long term treatment facilities in both the North and South Metropolitan regions; and assertive referral to community based support and counselling services.
  • A structured but flexible program to support people through the withdrawal process
  • A smoke free environment
  • Free of charge

How to Access the Service

To ensure that this service is the best match for consumers, it is important that we carefully assess individual’s treatment needs. People can refer themselves directly to the service through DAWN. Other services, such as Community Alcohol and Drug Services, mental health, general practitioners, child protection and corrective services can also make referrals by contacting DAWN. For consumers who are already engaged with the Residential Pathways Team at Cyrenian House, workers there will assist with the referral for assessment with DAWN.
