parkrun - Pioneer

You start out next to the stage in the Apex amphitheatre. You run towards the playground and along the path up the hill to the left of the playground. You will come across a T junction and turn left up the sharp incline to the roadside path. You run past the top of the treetop walk and the top of the Apex amphitheatre then down the hill, turning a sharp left onto the hidden boardwalk. Run along the shady boardwalk, following it out to the bottom of the amphitheatre. You run past the amphitheatre and the children's playground over the hill and down to a clearing where you turn right to run over the orange bridge. Once over the bridge you head left to run over a small concrete bridge and follow the path around to the right along the shoreline of the lake (mind the ducks!). Past the lake you run on the grass up to and over the land bridge, turn right and head back to and over the orange bridge. You turn left to leave the clearing and head back over the hill towards the children's playground. Run past the children's playground and left onto the boardwalk that wraps around the play area. You then run along the boardwalk and up the treetop walkway to the roadside path at the top of the amphitheatre. Run down the path to the hidden boardwalk and pop out again at the bottom of the amphitheatre and then head out to do that last lap one more time. You will finish the other side of the amphitheatre stage that you started from. Facilities There is ample free car parking, public toilets, children play equipment and BBQs located adjacent to the finish point. The café is also very close by. The course is located a few hundred meters from the main business district of Gosnells offering plenty of shops and food options. Getting There Location of startThe starts starts next to the stage in the Apex amphitheatre. Getting there by public transportBus: Transperth bus services stop at various points along Albany highway. For more information, please check transperth.wa.gov.au Train: Take the Armadale train line, to the Gosnells station. Head north east along Main St and then into Federation Parade. The finish point is approximately 500 metres from the Gosnells station. Getting there on footThe finish is just to the west of the Addie Mills Centre on Federation Parade Gosnells. Walk to the finish point and meeting point in the amphitheatre where bags / bicycles and personal belongings can be left. Then follow the marshals instructions to get to the start. Getting there by roadHeading south east from the Perth CBD, turn left off Albany highway into Main St Gosnells (6110), and then turn into Federation Parade. Park in the street car parking or in the car park on the corner of Federation Pde and Astley St. Then walk to the finishing area and follow the volunteer’s instructions to get to the start.
