About Us
Aboriginal Visitors - visit people in prison to reduce the likelihood of Aboriginal deaths and incidents of self-harm in custody, through the provision of:
• regular Visitor contact;
• advice and support;
• monitoring their well-being;
• to follow up on concerns; and
• provide information and appropriate referrals.
AVS operates under the Department of Corrective Services, 24 hours, 7 days per week.
