About Us

This Neighbourhood house creates an environment in which personal and community development can take place in a friendly neighbourhood context. The House promotes the well being and care of children and families and provides classes and educational opportunities in response to community needs, a creche for children whose caregivers are attending the centre and a meeting place in the community as a means of breaking down barriers and isolation. The House offers contact with others with similar interests and concerns, a wide variety of courses (varying from term to term), several family playgroups are held. Information is available on many topics including contact numbers for local support groups. Course fees are determined by the length, subject matter and any materials used. Volunteers lead some courses, while others are run by paid instructors. The creche is available for children who have a parent on the premises. Bilingual playgroups in Spanish, plus a dad's playgroup on Saturday's. Financial counselling can be arranged The activities listed above are an example only, and vary from term to term.
