About Us

Bicycles For Humanity is a volunteer-run, grassroots charity organisation focused on the alleviation of poverty through sustainable transport – in the form of a bike. Every year around 1.5 million bikes are sold across Australia – it is estimated that around half of these will end up unused or abandoned. We put this huge resource to work in some of the poorest countries in the world. The Perth chapter accepts bikes donations from all over the Perth area which are then repaired at our volunteer workshop at Jack Williamson Oval, Middle Swan. Bicycles that are collected all over Perth are distributed to either Bicycle Empowerment Centres in Africa or to a number of remote Aboriginal communities in northern parts of Western Australia.
