Ethnic Communities Council of QLD
The Ethnic Communities Council of Qld provides the following services:
COMMUNITY AGED/DISABILITY CARE PROGRAM - The focus of this program is on assisting clients to remain in their homes. The Program, through Diversicare takes into account lifestyle, cultural background and religious beliefs.
IN-HOME RESPITE - Culturally and linguistically appropriate In-Home Respite, available through Diversicare offers assessment, care, planning and co-ordination for frail aged/disabled persons. It also supports mainstream HACC services through cross-cultural training and workshop programs, also through ECCQ's Diversicare.
DAY RESPITE - Provides culturally and linguistically appropriate Day Respite. The Program is based on the cluster model which groups clients according to the similarities of their culture, diet, etc.
OLDER PERSONS ACTION GROUP - supporting NESB seniors with social issues, isolation problems and mental health issues.
AGED CARE - Full residential and respite care for NESB aged at Berlasco Court.
SEXUAL HEALTH PROGRAM - ECCQ. with funding from Queensland Health, designs and conducts sexual health education and awareness programs in Queensland. The education programs raise awareness about issues related to sexual health such as HIV/AIDS, different STD, STIs, breast cancer, cervical cancer, testicular cancer and Hepatitis C. The program also produces and distributes resources related to sexual health in various languages.
