Maude is located 52 kilometres west of Hay, on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River. The town was established in 1861 and grew slowly until 1879 when a hotel, store and wool store were built. Today it is home to a general store, the Maude Hotel, a caravan park and post office. Enjoy meals at the Maude Hotel and experience life in the Australian bush. There are some great fishing sites along the river with a grassy picnic area near the Maude weir.
