Set at the foot of the towering Rock Hill Nature Reserve, The Rock is a pretty town and the eastern gateway to Lockhart Shire. An easy drive along Olympic Highway, The Rock is only 25 kilometres south of Wagga Wagga and 96 kilometres north of Albury. The wide, park like main thoroughfare, and the visual domination of the majestic The Rock Hill frames the character of the town. Walk along the The Avenue of Honour where the line of pretty Kurrajongs were planted in honour of the many soldiers from the district who served in World War One. Each tree represents a soldier. Enjoy lunch in one of the pretty parks, complete with play equipment, picnic benches and toilets, wander around the fantastic antique shop or take a drive to the impressive Rock Hill Nature Reserve where a wide variety of fauna and flora abound.
