Jerilderie is located on the Newell Highway and is a major merino stud area. It is also the gateway to the Kidman Way, an 800 kilometre outback highway. Jerilderie's large agricultural industry includes olives, onions, cotton, canola, wool, cotton, beef, wheat and rice. Nearly a quarter of the Nation's tomatoes are grown in the area and there is a tomato-processing factory in town. Jerilderie is the only New South Wales town visited by the bushranger Ned Kelly and his gang. You can learn more about the gang's exploits by following the Ned Kelly raid trail. Visit Ye Old Bank of New South Wales for an insight into the town's colonial history.
