Jerilderie is located on the Newell Highway and is a major merino stud area. It is also the gateway to the Kidman Way, an 800 kilometre outback highway. Jerilderie's large agricultural industry includes olives, onions, cotton, canola, wool, cotton, beef, wheat and rice and there is also a tomato-processing factory in town.
