For a glimpse of the island's forests as they once were, take a stroll along the walking tracks in the Oswin Roberts Reserve. Life in Rhyll means life on the water, so make the most of the village's excellent all-tide boat ramp, slipway, jetties, yacht club, angling club and sailing school. Hire a boat and sail the sheltered port, charter a fishing expedition, or visit remote French Island to see the local koalas and native orchids. The foreshore features barbecues and amenities, making it perfect for picnicking. Rhyll is 140 kilometres from Melbourne, or around one hour and 45 minutes by car along the M1 and the Bass Highway.
