Less than an hour’s drive from Perth you'll find yourself in the countryside in the beautiful Chittering region. Chittering's undulating hills create sensational views over beautiful valleys filled with vineyards and orchards, paddocks and pastures, rocky outcrops and lakes, forest and bush land. Throughout Spring, roadsides are abound with an amazing array of wildflowers. Throughout the year the roads are lined with seasonal fresh fruit available from quaint roadside stalls. Chittering Road, part of the Chittering Valley Tourist Way, offers a beautiful scenic drive with spectacular views of the green rolling hills of the Chittering Valley. This scenic route is also home to Djidi-Djidi Ridge with spectacular view and an enchanting wildflower-lined trail. The Chittering Farm Flavour Trail lists many seasonal produce options, including wineries and farm gates which let you explore beyond to unearth a bounty of fresh produce from the region. With the Bindoon Farmers Markets being held on a monthly basis, A Taste of Chittering being held annually and a fabulous Mystery Picnic, Mystery Weekend or Farmgate Experience, which can be pre-booked by visitors, there is always an opportunity to experience the flavours of Chittering. The Visitor Information Centre in the Bindoon has all the maps, brochures and information you will need to enjoy your day in Chittering. While for picnicking, delicious food and play, Bindoon has everything you need. Also home to the Brockman Centre run by volunteers who lend their time to both the Heritage Museum and Arts and Crafts Centre. Chittering has a variety of walk trails allowing you to immerse yourself in the flora and bushland. Experience the Chittering Valley with walks boasting great views, walk through the beautiful surrounds of Bindoon as well as the heritage walk at Wannamal in the north-western area of the shire. The region has various accommodation options ranging from bed and breakfasts, self-contained chalets to farm stays and caravan and camping options.
