About Us

Telecross* - Statewide QLD Service  www.redcross.org.au/telecross.aspx

Participants receive a free, short, reassuring daily phone call to people living alone to confirm they are safe and well and to help them remain connected to their community.  Phone calls are made by Red Cross Volunteers between 7:00am and 9am weekdays and weekends from a Red Cross office.

Telechat* - Statewide QLD Service www.redcross.org.au/telechat.aspx

Participants receive a free, longer social telephone call to people living in the commuinty to provide support, friendship and community connection.  Phone calls are made by matched Red Cross Volunteers at an agreed time and day on a regular basis.

Bridges* - Gold Coast & Rockhampton

Red Cross Volunteers provide support for people who have limited connection to community life.  Through one to one visits, peer support and/or group activities, they provide companionship, opportunities to build social networks and a vital link to services for people who are disconnected from their communities.

NB: *These services are available to people who are living at home and are aged between 50+(Aboriginal or Torres Strait Island peoples) and 65 years or older.  Please note Telecross and Telechat calls do not provide counselling, legal or medical advice.
