The role of the Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) is to determine the overall care needs of frail older people and to assist them to gain access to the most appropriate types of services. ACAT is responsible for assessing eligibility and approving applications for residential care ( permanant and respite). Community Aged Care Packages and Flexible Care incorporating Extended Aged Care Packages.
