Carinya Home’s accommodation options cater for residents requiring various levels of care.
Independent Living Units (Carrington Court)
We offer rental accommodation to older persons. Residents must be able to living independently and be in good health. A maintenance/gardening service is part of the rental fee.
Low care / hostel residential aged care facilities (Jim Chapman Lodge)
Our low care services support residents who may require assistance with daily living activities such as showering, dressing, laundry and managing medications. Services can offer the opportunity, once a resident's care needs change, for them to continue to be cared for without the need for relocation to another facility (ageing on site).
Residents enjoy social and recreational activities, and services generally have outdoor entertainment areas and gardens to entertain visiting family and friends.
High care / nursing home residential aged care facilities (Wadley Court)
Our high care residents are supported with ongoing nursing care and other support such as allied health services and palliative care. Our staff dedicate themselves to providing quality care and service. Our activity staff and volunteers offer a variety of lifestyle activities and programs to assist residents maintain social activities. These services also have recreational areas for visitors, including our sensory garden.
Specific Care (dementia) unit (Barron Court
Both our low and high care services provide care to support the special needs of people with dementia. Staff are trained in early recognition of dementia and in planning care to provide the best support to residents. Many facilities have dementia-specific activity programs and safe areas for residents to enjoy. Our focus is on individual care to provide the best lifestyle and health outcomes for each resident.
Planned respite.
We offer one planned respite place. The minimum stay is two weeks. These short to medium stays provide support for carers of older people, giving them a break from their caring role. These services also support people who may need additional care to recover from an illness before returning to their home.
