Blue Care accommodation options cater for residents requiring various levels of care.
Low care / hostel residential aged care facilities
Our low care services support residents who may require assistance with daily living activities such as showering, dressing, laundry and managing medications. Services can offer the opportunity, once a resident's care needs change, for them to continue to be cared for without the need for relocation (ageing in place).
Residents enjoy social and recreational activities, and services generally have outdoor entertainment areas and gardens to entertain visiting family and friends.
High care / nursing home residential aged care facilities
Our high care residents are supported with ongoing nursing care and other support such as allied health services, and if needed, palliative care. Our diversional therapy staff and volunteers offer a variety of lifestyle activities and programs to keep residents socially active. These services also have recreational areas for visitors.
Special purpose dementia units
Both our low and high care services provide care to support the special needs of people with dementia. Staff are trained in early recognition of dementia and in planning care to provide the best support to residents. Many facilities have dementia-specific activity programs and safe areas for residents to enjoy. Our focus is on individual care to provide the best lifestyle and health outcomes for each resident.
Planned and emergency respite.
Many of our residential services offer planned or emergency respite. These short to medium stays provide support for carers of older people, giving them a break from their caring role. These services also support people who may need additional care to recover from an illness before returning to their home.
