About Us

We are a not for profit organisation run by volunteers - Choir Buddies. We want to make sing become a common language to connect people in Wimmera We have modelled this choir on wonderful work of Dr Jonathon Welsh AM who has established many Street Choirs in Sydney and Melbourne, notably The Choir of Hard Knocks. The Choir of Hard Knocks members and I couldn’t be more thrilled to hear of the formation of the Voices of Wimmera and we welcome you to our family of ‘street choirs’ around the world now. We hope that you will have many happy years singing together, making new friends ?and making a?positive?contribution back to your community through your performances. Dr Jonathon Welch AM Founder & Artistic Director Choir of Hard Knocks Voices of Wimmera is choir established for people who vulnerable or marginalised through their circumstances, they will benefit from joining a supportive community. The wonderful opportunity to be heard and valued for their input can be a wonderful experience for them and can extend to many other areas of their life. ? Self-esteem and confidence will improve so much that you will see complete transformation in some of those involved. A recent study in the US found belonging to a community choir can help you be more successful in life and work and help others in becoming involved in the community and learning how to work as a team. - See more at: http://voicesofwimmera.org.au/author/voices-of-wimmera/#sthash.aNvxVlhb.dpuf
