About Advocare

Advocare is a leader in addressing the rights of older people and elder abuse. For over 26 years we have proudly helped older Western Australians access the right supports, information and protections available to them.

Our support services are free, confidential and unbiased. They are centered around:

• Protecting the rights of older people
• Preventing Elder Abuse
• Overcoming social isolation; and
• Assisting with navigating aged care

We are a not-for-profit organisation, completely independent from aged care providers.

Our aim is to empower older people by giving them information and choice so they can make informed decisions to live the life they want on their terms.

Aged Care Advocacy 

Our aged care advocates are independent and impartial.  They can help you understand and stand up for your rights in the aged care system.

An advocate will ensure you have a say in the decisions that affect you.  They provide information and choice so you can make informed decisions and live the life you want on your terms.

Advocates can assist by:

• Spending time to listen to your story and understand your wishes
• Giving you practical assistance in navigating the aged care system
• Informing you of your aged care rights and responsibilities
• Assisting you in exploring options to make informed decisions
• Providing support so you can raise your concerns and achieve resolutions
• Helping to increase your ability to speak for yourself, or if you aren’t feeling confident they can speak for you.
