Derwent Valley Community

Derwent Valley Council has an approximate area of 4,100 km².

It is comprised of the suburbs of Boyer, Bushy Park, Fitzgerald, Glenfern, Glenora, Hayes, Karanja, Lachlan, Lawitta, Macquarie Plains, Malbina, Maydena, Molesworth, Mount Lloyd, New Norfolk, Plenty, Rosegarland, Sorell Creek, Strathgordon, Tyenna and Uxbridge plus parts of 8 suburbs including Black Hills, Claremont, Collinsvale, Glenlusk and Granton.

It is comprised of the localities of Moogara and Styx plus parts of Florentine, Mount Field, Southwest and Wellington Park.

It is surrounded by the councils of Brighton, Central Highlands, Glenorchy City, Huon Valley, Kingborough, Southern Midlands and West Coast.

It is within the state electorate of Lyons.

It is within the federal electorate of Lyons.
