Surf Coast Shire Community

Surf Coast Council has an approximate area of 1,600 km².

It is comprised of 27 suburbs including Aireys Inlet, Anglesea, Bambra, Barrabool, Bellbrae, Bells Beach, Benwerrin, Big Hill, Boonah, Buckley, Deans Marsh, Eastern View, Fairhaven, Freshwater Creek, Gherang, Gnarwarre, Jan Juc, Lorne, Modewarre, Moggs Creek, Moriac, Mount Moriac, Paraparap, Torquay and Wensleydale plus parts of another 4 suburbs.

It is comprised of parts of the localities of Birregurra, Inverleigh, Ombersley and Winchelsea.

It is surrounded by the councils of Colac Otway Shire, Golden Plains Shire and Greater Geelong City.

It is comprised of parts of the state electorates of Polwarth and South Barwon.

It is within the federal electorate of Corangamite.
