Mount Marshall Council has an approximate area of 10,000 km².
It is comprised of the localities of Beacon, Bencubbin, Bimbijy, Cleary, Gabbin, Karroun Hill, Mouroubra, Remlap, Tampu and Welbungin plus parts of Wialki.
It is surrounded by the councils of Dalwallinu, Koorda, Menzies, Mukinbudin, Sandstone, Trayning, Westonia, Wyalkatchem, Yalgoo and Yilgarn.
It is within the state electorate of Central Wheatbelt.
It is within the federal electorate of Durack.
