It is surrounded by the localities of Cradle Mountain, Guildford, Lake St Clair, Mawbanna, Middlesex, Parrawe, Queenstown, Savage River, Southwest, Strahan, Togari, Trowutta, Waratah and West Takone.
It is comprised of parts of the councils of Circular Head, Waratah-wynyard and West Coast.
It is within the state electorate of Braddon.
