Kids Steps Speech Pathology

Our Speech Pathologists are trained to assess and treat your child’s communication skills. This may include difficulties with: 

• Expressive language – putting words into sentences and using appropriate correct grammar, sentence structure and vocabulary.

• Receptive language – being able to understand, interpret and process spoken language.

• Articulation Skills – the clear production of speech sounds.

• Fluency - stuttering.

• Literacy – reading, reading comprehension, spelling and phonemic awareness.

• Social Skills – such as making eye contact, sharing, taking turns, having conversations and developing and maintaining friendships

• Emotion Regulation Skills – identifying angry and anxious body clues and using strategies to help us stay calm

• Alternative and Augmentative Communication – using technology to support and supplement communication needs.

• Feeding and Swallowing Skills – helping children develop the skills to safely eat and swallow
