About Us

Our history

Founded in 1993, Kempsey Families has grown and transformed from a team of 3 with one program into a dynamic and innovative organisation providing a variety of specialist domestic and family violence and family support services.

Kempsey Families growth in the region has been realised through its ongoing commitment to understanding the needs and vulnerabilities of children, families and its community, and working collaboratively with individuals, families and partner agencies building on existing strengths to enhance the safety, health and wellbeing of children, young people, families.

Our focus and approach

Kempsey Families is committed to action aimed at developing safe, supportive and resilient families and communities that enable individuals and families to flourish. Kempsey Families delivers a range of services and programs across the continuum of interventions support the well-being and nurturing of children and families, especially those who are vulnerable and disadvantaged.

In working with families, including women, children and young people and others at risk of, or experiencing domestic and family violence, we are committed to the delivery of services and practice that are trauma informed, strengths based that promote self-determination and empowerment.

Our Funding

We are funded by the Department of Family and Community Services under the Early Intervention Prevention Program and Families NSW. Engage2Change Men’s Behaviour Change Project is funded by NSW Office of Women. Speakout4kids is funded by the Benevolent Society.
