About Us

Our Aboriginal Family Links (AFL) Program provides support to Aboriginal families with children aged 0 to 5 years, and pregnant Aboriginal women and their partners in the Tenterfield area: Referrals to specialist services, General information and advice, Centre based and home visiting services provided. Our AFL staff assist families with living skills, emotional support, and assisting with the acquisitions of knowledge, skills and supportive networks:

Tenterfield Supported Playgroup sessions:

  • Facilitated one day per week during the school term (Tuesday 10am to 12.30pm)
  • An opportunity for parents and carers to share experiences of parenting and learn new parenting skills
  • Supported by workers who coordinate the activities
  • Structured and positive environment for children to socialise play and learn
  • Age appropriate learning experiences and activities
  • Provides educational sessions and activities for the parents and children
  • Assist children and families with transition to school
