The Department of Housing is implementing a one social housing system which will change the way housing assistance is provided. This will mean that housing assistance will be directed to people in most need of help for as long as they need it. All long term social housing has been streamlined with one common application form and assessment process. This assistance will be provided to a wide range of eligible people, including seniors, families, people with a disability, single people and young people. Rental assistance, in the form of bond loans and rental grants, is also available to eligible applicants.
