About Us

The Social Support Group is funded by the Department of Health and provides social interaction for people over the age of 65 or 50 for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in the community. A wide scope of activities includes physical and mental exercises to stimulate the body and help to maintain the cognitive functions of the brain, fun and games, music therapy, aromatherapy, outings and great functions for Melbourne Cup and Christmas days.

Morning tea is offered on arrival and lunch can be arranged with a third party or brought from home.

Transport can be arranged by calling (07) 4055 0890.

Eligibility:

People over 65 years of age who live independently in the community and would like to socialise in a friendly and safe environment. Clients need to be assessed by "My Aged Care" and nominated our service as a preference.

Hours:

The service is open to the aged care group Mondays to Thursdays from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. 

Fees:

A user fee applies to help with the running of the centre and bus.
