WELCOME TO CATERPILLAR CLINIC - A SPECIALIST PSYCHOLOGY PRACTICE DEDICATED TO HELPING CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES IN THE CAIRNS REGION.

The Caterpillar Clinic is a private clinic operated from Cairns, Far North Queensland. We are currently an approved NDIS Provider for children accessing agency, plan-managed, or self-managed NDIS Plans. We are a provider under the Connect to Wellbeing program for eligible families who can obtain referrals through their GPs. We are also able to provide Medicare Rebates for families obtaining assessment and intervention services for their child, with referral from their medical practitioner.

OLDER CHILD/YOUNGER ADULT SERVICES

We are currently expanding our service to offer more support for adolescents and young adults without disabilities aged 13-21 years. This service can be accessed via a GP Mental Health Care Plan providing Medicare rebates, or direct to the Clinic. Our Services

We offer an extensive range of services that are able to be catered to your child's individual needs.

• Intensive Early Intervention Programs (based on Applied Behaviour Analysis), focusing on language, making friends, self-care skills (e.g., toileting, eating, sleeping), and accessing enjoyable play.
• Assessment and intervention for disruptive or challenging behaviours (anger, outbursts, tantrums, aggression etc) that is distressing for children and their families
• Assessment and intervention for emotional literacy, emotional regulation, and co-occurring conditions such as anxiety
• Consultation Services for daycares, schools, support agencies, allied health professionals
• Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnostic services (using the ADOS-2 and ADI-R)
• Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) assessments
• Cognitive assessments for intellectual impairment or giftedness
• Academic assessments to identify learning disorders and provide supportive strategies

Referral Pathways

• GP Mental Health Care Plans (accessed after consultation with your child's GP)
• Paediatrician/Child Psychiatrist referral
• Chronic Disease Management Plan (accessed after consultation with your child's GP)
• Connect to Wellbeing (access after consultation with your child's GP and approval from Connect to Wellbeing)
• Direct (however, no Medicare rebates are available with direct services and we do ask for a brief overview of concerns to be provided when you ring to make the appointment)
