About Us
The Marlin Coast Neighbourhood Centre is an independent community-based organisation funded by Queensland Department of Communities. Our aim is to promote, support and enhance community, family and individual wellbeing. The venue is also available for hire. The Centre runs two main programs: Community Support Services Program offers community information, education and development through a wide range of activities and courses eg. art classes, computer classes, bridge club, Tai Chi, meditation, book club, playgroup and self help groups, some financial assistance, free counselling to families and individuals and support to newcomers to the area. Older Persons Program incorporates Safe and Confident Living, Chat Line (telephone link-up for people who are housebound) and the Tuesday Club (activities, outings, luncheons and guest speakers) to promote healthy, social interaction for all seniors. Emergency relief available under certian circumstances to local people by appointment with our Emergency Relief Officer.
