Welcome to Pawsitive Psychology

Pawsitive Psychology in Pialba offers psychological therapies for clients seeking help with trauma, depression and anxiety. Our therapeutic approach is holistic, client focused and positive. Our trained and certified therapy dogs Toffee and Kandi assist in the therapeutic process by supporting the clients during sessions. 

Dr Louise Williams, clinical psychologist, travels to Hervey Bay once a month and offers diverse assessments for clients in the Hervey Bay area.

To be able to provide clients with the most effective services that are tailored to their individual needs, accurate assessments are a crucial part of the process.
Dr. Louise Williams, from A+Assessments is a clinically endorsed psychologist. She specialises on assessments for diverse clients (NDIS, Centrelink and education department).
Louise comes to Hervey Bay once a month to provide this valuable and crucial service to clients in the Hervey Bay Region.

 

 

Louise operates independently and can accept referrals for assessments from other organisations in the region. Louise uses the rooms of Pawsitive Psychology. 

Louise is currently offering the following assessments:

  • Cognitive assessments – also known as IQ assessments. This assessment helps to identify an individual’s ability and highlights strengths and weaknesses
  • Behavioural assessments – this is an assessment for concentration, hyperactivity at home and at school. This is a diagnostic assessment for ADHD, including an assessment of general intellectual ability and a review of executive functions. A report is part of this assessment which will provide recommendation or home and/or school. 
  • Autism Assessments – this is an assessment for Autism Spectrum Disorder. We follow the Gold Standard for Autism Assessments using the ADI-R and the ADOS. Further rating scales are utilised for parents/caregivers and teachers to complete.
  • School Readiness Assessments – to assess academic readiness by evaluating a child’s understanding of important foundational concepts. This can be particularly helpful for parents who are considering early entry or a delayed entry to formal education (school)
  • Functional capacity assessments – analyses functional performance in areas of self care and general day to day activities.  

Confirmation of booking: Bookings will be confirmed upon receipt of signed service agreement.
Cancellation Policy: Where the participant has provided 72 business hours notice (3 days) of cancellation A+ Assessment will not charge a cancellation fee.
Any less notice of cancellation a fee up to 90% of the agreed price for the cancelled service may be charged.
