About Us

Our youth support program assists young people aged 8 - 21 years in a holistic case-management framework, working closely with other agencies to deliver innovative and effective services to at-risk and disadvantaged young people.

Referrals to the program includes young people who are:

At risk of disconnection from family/community or support networks
At risk of disengagement from school, training and/or employment
At risk of harm, including self-harm
Homeless or at risk of homelessness
Our youth workers aim to support young people by encouraging positive connections and communications with family, friends and community.

This support is client focused and client centred where young people actively participate in identifying their support needs including individual support, tailored activities, lifestyle education, community participation and advocacy.

The young person can contact Queensland Youth and Families Support Servicess (QYFSS) themselves, or be referred by service providers, family members, schools, friends, police or government agencies by phoning (07) 3818 1050 or completing the Online Referral Form.

The youth support service is funded through the Department of Child Safety, Youth and Women.
