Zonta Club of Roma

Zonta is an organisation of 33,000 business and professional women around the world providing
service and advocacy through projects to improve the health, education, economic and political status
of women and girls.
Through the service initiatives, Zonta International has provided millions of dollars of funding for
projects which improve the conditions for women in developing countries from Bosnia to Zambia. The
Program has provided training, education, health, sanitation, agricultural and micro credit assistance to
women, primarily through projects implemented by the agencies of the United Nations and other
recognised non-government organisations.
Locally, the club raises funds and supports the local community by providing a bursary for one
university student and one female student at both high schools as chosen by the school. 'Care' Packs
are also put together for local families in need and breast cushions provided for Breast Cancer
sufferers. The Zonta Club of Roma meets for dinner the last Tuesday of every month.
