About Us
The Townsville Cancer Centre has a number of education programs coordinated by the oncology clinical nurse educator and supported by a variety of team members from nursing, medical and allied health.
- QCEP (Queensland Cancer Education Program) - state-wide post-graduate articulated cancer nursing program run internally over a 12-month period rotating throughout all oncology areas (radiation oncology, oncology day unit, oncology ward, palliative care). Also available in professional-development mode
- ADAC (Antineoplastic Drug Administration Course) - nationally recognised education program.
- Oncology ELS (Essential Life Support) - co-coordinated with the Townsville Clinical Simulation Centre for simulated emergency training
- Involvement in the first-year graduate nursing program
- Oncology skills-day seminar for Townsville HHS nurses
